Founded in 1889, Bernardo Winery has been producing wines from localy sourced grapes that suit the San Diego Terroir. Our Vintners at Bernardo Winery incoroporate the old ways of winemaking with modern technology and enological and viticulture practices, focusing on making wine from grapes grown in our region.

2021 CHABLIS
Produced at BW since the end of prohibition, this light white blend is an homage to the wines of yesteryear. A fruity, light, yet satisfying heritage wine perfect for San Diego summer.

2021 VIOGNIER
A favorite at BW, this viognier is tropical and mouthwatering with flavors of guava, green banana, white peach, and almond. Wonderfully refreshing and great with light cheeses.

Grown north of Palomar Mountain, this chardonnay is loaded with apricot and lemongrass. Wonderful aromas of almond and sweet peaches on the nose. A wonderfully crafted chardonnay from San Diego County.

San Diego County. Nutty, oaky and full of character, this San Diego chardonnay is a classic rendition of an old California song. Almond paste, lemon, vanilla and praline round out this partially ML fermented white. $30 bottle, $13 glass
San Diego County. A gentle and refreshing rosado with notes of strawberry. Raspberry and lime. A light blend of Zin, Syrah and Barbera makes this rosado balanced and drinkable in the summer sun. $30 bottle, $13 glass
RED WINES
2020 BURGUNDY
A heritage blend of grenache, zinfandel and syrah make up this historic wine style. Simple yet delicious. A Bernardo Winery label since the early 1940’s Notes of dark fruit with light oak and soft tannin. $28 bottle, $12 glass
2019 GRENACHE
Bright delicious fruit and structure makes this grenache a great everyday wine. To make this wine an early drinker we focused on a shorter extraction time to maximize fruit and mellow out the tannin. Notes of dark cherry candy and bright acid.

A lighter, more subtle Syrah with a bouquet bursting of dark cherry and raspberry. Notes of cranberry, persimmon, black currant, cinnamon, and white pepper. Soft tannins and light acidity beg for creamy pastas or can be enjoyed by itself as a solo sipper. $32 bottle, $14 glass
SWEET WINES
San Diego County. A classic light off-dry blush rosado reminiscent of yesteryears classic Bernardo Winery vin rose. Notes of strawberry, rhubarb, rose petal and honey.

2021 MOSCATO
Famous for being harvested at Bernardo Winery with record-breaking sugar content, Muscat is a long-time San Diego resident that’s been growing here since 1889. A classic wine with notes of honeysuckle and peaches with a citrusy crisp sweetness to finish.
