The Chablis label is a historical relic here at Bernardo Winery denoting a white blend of randomness that fulfilled the ‘light fruity’ category of the wine list. The same explanation for why we name this bottle after a French region can be found on the Burgundy page. For more than 70 years, the Chablis has been on our wine list. The 2022 version is light, refreshing and slightly sweet, making it fruity and enjoyable anytime. With a long history of label approvals from the government, we are still allowed to label this wine after the famous French region, however, on a heritage wine made at one of California’s oldest wineries, it’s a relic of when San Diego’s wine culture was easy and unpretentious. Gallon jugs of this wine flew off the shelf.
