We proudly present the 2023 Merlot, a wine that is both mellow and savory. Each year, our winemakers craft this Merlot as a tribute to Bernardo Winery’s Sicilian roots. While Merlot isn’t traditionally associated with Southern Italy, it has long been appreciated in table wines as a versatile blending grape. This vintage is made with exceptional fruit sourced from McCormick’s Vineyards, a partnership we’ve cherished since the 1960s. The warm Southern California climate gives the wine a unique character, offering a rich and plummy profile, different from the classic Bordeaux style. Ripe dark fruit flavors are complemented by soft tannins and a smooth, lingering finish, making it both approachable and memorable.
Notes of blueberry, plum, spices, and toasted oak.
