San Diego County | 100% Chardonnay
A classic California Chardonnay bottled in the name of our 1st Generation Master Vintner, Vincent Rizzo. Almost 100 years ago, white wines produced at Bernardo were most likely similar to this wine; experienced malolactic fermentation, fermented in wood, pressed aggressively. This bottle also shows the versatility of chardonnay, the queen of the wine grapes, and its ability to grow in San Diego’s warmer, longer season.
Primary and secondary fermentations were done in slightly used American oak barrels and aged on the soft lees for 6 months.
Notes of toasted almonds, lemon curd, brioche.
